When out oldest daughter Julie was working at the Park District summer camp she saw something out on the road. A car driving down the road slowed down and then proceeded to toss a puppy dog out. It then sped off in the darkness. Julie couldn’t believe her eyes and went tearing out to the road. There she found the very tiny puppy and carried him back to the camp.
She knew that I had a dog Sam for many years and wasn’t looking for another one at this time. So before bringing the dog home she took it to the vet. It was determined that the dog was half German Shepard half Border Collie. The dog was check for diseases and given its shots. Then she brought him home with the usual request, “Can I keep him?”
What could we say, she had done all the things necessary to refute any objection we would have. She named him Tabor and he became a member of the family. We all grew to love him. In addition, he became a protector of our girls. This became apparent very early in his growth. The story of these episodes are elsewhere in this blog under Puppy Love.
This is just an expansion how it became a member of the family
