On our annual week of golf one of the concerns was meals. Top priority when we got there was a trip to the supermarket. We created quite a vision. Eight guys with two or three carts pillaging the local Publix. Chips and beer were the first picks to load in the carts. Then we would get to the cereal, bacon, eggs, bread, cheese, and lunch meat. Then each would pick the materials needed when it was their night to prepare the repast. We didn’t all do this, as we didn’t eat in every night.

The first night there, evolved into the same meal year after year, beans and wieners. Why not, it was cheap and easy enough that any of us could be the chef. Spaghetti, hot dogs, burgers, and pizza would be eaten during the week. Breakfast was always interesting as we all didn’t rise at the same time. It looked like a mini cafeteria with all the different aspects of getting breakfast going on at the same time.

However, we did eat out also, which many times became a source of fun and laughter. At least once a week we would find a Chinese buffet, which left us all reeking of garlic and the other spices loaded into the food. We would find restaurants with early bird specials and go eat with all the seniors.

I will put my brain to work to remember some of the funnier dining scenes, and publish them, but one thing for sure no one lost weight on our annual pilgrimage.
