Martha and I liked to have dinner at the Texas Roadhouse. The atmosphere was always uplifting, and the peanuts were a treat. But we never sat in a booth, we always found room at the bar. This originally started because the wait was always quite long, and we could find at least one seat at the bar. Originally, we would turn in our name and go to the bar for a drink while waiting. but in the end would order dinner at the bar.

We discovered that you meet the nicest people there and had some of the best conversations. One evening we were seated by a couple from Minnesota on their way to Florida for vacation. We must have talked for the better part of an hour and the n they left. A couple of weeks later we came in and found seats at the bar, and guess what? The same couple was there, on their way home. We had a great time listening about their vacation.

As I said, you meet the nicest people at the bar. I still go there as a single and meet some of the nicest people and have some great conversations.

What a lovely read, you and Martha sound like good, warm people. I’m glad you have such fond memories of her. Love from the UK! šŸ‘‹
