Well, it is tax time again. I have mine done by Aaron. My kids tell me I am smart enough to do my own taxes. I tell them I am smart enough not to do my own taxes. there have been a couple of screw ups involving our taxes. Ony one was my fault. I was having my taxes done by Aaron, but I left out one document. About a week later I discovered it. I called Aaron and he told me to bring it in.
We then filed an amended return and sent the check for the mistake with it. I thought everything was good. Suddenly we are getting notification by the IRS that we are in arears. I have no clue what to do. Aaron figured out that the IRS had cashed my check but was still operating from the original filing.
It required a conference call between Aaron me and the IRS. We went over an amended filing line item by line item. Then when everything was agreed upon, we shoved it in the fax machine and breathed a sigh of relief. Later Martha asked me if it was all done. I told her no. “What now” she asked. I told her I would probably receive a bill from the IRS for being late, and I would pay it because I had had enough.
The bill came and I paid it.
