When Martha was working in Beloit Wisconsin, we belonged to the Country club of Beloit. It was an amazing facility with all the amenities, but at level that wasn’t pretentious. since that time Diane Hendricks of ABC Supply has done a lot of improving the facility. It is hardly the place I remember. However, that isn’t a bad thing. I have been there and used the facilities, and if Martha was still with us, we would probably still belong.
My story has to do with my two grandsons, Andy and PD. From the time they were big enough to swing a club I took them there to play golf with me. They were memorable, and I get a little tear in the corner of my eye thinking about them. I taught them the rules and etiquette of the game. I didn’t need to teach them how to play, their father was a legitimate single digit player, and they inherited his genes.
And after the game they loved going t the clubhouse and indulging in the pop and popcorn that was always there in abundance.
But my fondest memory was that I was always getting compliments on the two gentlemen who played with me. And they were, two of the most courteous and rule conscience people i have ever played with.
Today they hit a nine iron as far I can hit a driver, but the good memories are still there.
